Director / President and Chairman of the Board


Scott Ackles is currently the Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Communications with Paladin Security. Prior to joining Paladin Security, Scott was the CEO of ViaSport.


Scott was introduced as the 28th president in Calgary Stampeder history on Dec. 12, 2007. Scott joined the club a year earlier and spent the 2006 Canadian Football League season as senior vice president of club operations. He stayed in Calgary until 2010 when he moved back to British Columbia to take on the role as General Manager of the 2011 Grey Cup Festival.


Prior to arriving in Calgary, he was the BC Lions’ vice-president of operations. In 2004 and 2005, he was general manager of the Vancouver-hosted Grey Cup Championship and Festival. The Vancouver Festival is widely considered one of the best ever and it capped a CFL revival on the West Coast.


Prior to his involvement with the Grey Cup, Scott spent two years with EventCorp Services as vice-president of business development.


Scott spent 2001 as director of operations for the Las Vegas Outlaws of the XFL, overseeing the launch of the new franchise as well as league kickoff. A former video co-ordinator with the Dallas Cowboys (1986-89), he previously served as the BC Lions director of operations for four seasons, culminating in the 2000 Grey Cup victory.

Scott was part of the A-Crew for CTV's world feed of the Calgary Winter Olympics in 1988, helping to bring the opening and closing ceremonies to the world. Scott also served on the committee for the 2002 Memorial Cup in Vancouver and the inaugural 2008 women's under-18 World Hockey Championship in Calgary.


He and his wife Theresa - who he met at the Calgary Olympics - have two children, Kasey and Robyn.
